No. Montclaire does not have a mandatory HOA, and no documents or fees are required at closing. Our neighborhood association is fully voluntary and focuses on communication, community-building, and improvement projects.
Are there rules about privacy fences or home improvements?
The neighborhood association does not set ordinances or design rules for private property. For fence height, placement, and permitting, please refer to the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement.

Yes. We send email calls for volunteers when clean‑ups or community projects are approaching.

Who handles trash, recycling, and yard waste?
The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services manages weekly pickup. Check their website for holiday schedules, bulk pickup, and yard waste guidelines.
What are the rules for pets in the neighborhood?
Leash laws apply throughout Charlotte. Please pick up after your pets — waste left in yards or gutters washes into storm drains and local streams.
Who do I contact about speeding or traffic concerns?
Traffic issues can be reported to Charlotte DOT. Neighbors often work together to request speed studies or signage.
Can I request street trees or report tree issues?
Yes. The City of Charlotte Landscape Management team handles street tree planting, pruning, and removal.
Who do I contact for streetlight outages?
Streetlights are maintained by Duke Energy. You can report outages online.
