🌿 Ongoing Neighborhood Clean‑Ups
Twice a year, neighbors come together for a hands‑on clean‑up at two key community spots:
- The Montclaire monument at Shadyview & Archdale, where we refresh the beds, tidy the area, and keep our neighborhood’s front door looking sharp.
- The Brookhaven Rd steps leading to Montclaire Elementary, where we clear debris, trim back overgrowth, and make the walkway safer and more inviting for families heading to school.
These clean‑ups are quick, social, and make a visible difference. New faces are always welcome, and no experience is needed — just a willingness to pitch in and enjoy a little time outdoors with neighbors.
🌼 How to Join In
When a clean‑up is approaching, we send out email calls for volunteers so everyone has a chance to jump in. All tools and supplies are provided; you just bring yourself.
🌳 Everyday Ways to Help
Between clean‑ups, small habits keep our shared spaces looking great:
- Pick up any driveway newspaper inserts so they don’t wash into storm drains.
- Toss dog‑waste bags into your own trash — not gutters or yards.
- Keep an eye out for litter near the monument or school steps and grab it when you can.
